Yuletide Letter!
Oct. 18th, 2020 02:30 pmHi! I'm Alana on AO3, and this is my first Yuletide! If you're checking out my letter and it appears unfinished it's because it is because October is my workplace's hellmonth and its impossible to find time to do anything, but I hope to have it completed by Nov. 1st!
GENERAL DNWS:
Descriptions of piercings being made, hypodermic shots, or other thin metal going into flesh
Gore-based horror, graphic descriptions of violent torture or wounds (non-descriptive mentions of wounds and blood are fine)
Foreground m/f (mentions of canon or implied het relationships are fine, background het is fine)
Surprise and highly avoidable non-canon character death (like, "the ship gets together... and then Bob dies of the kidney stones he never went to the doctor for!" or "And then he died from the poison, because everyone forgot about the canon panacea he had in his left pocket" or whatever.)
SEX/KINK/SMUT DNWS:
Cunnilingus
Deliberately degrading language or slurs, verbal abuse, deliberate humiliation (specifically as kinks/in smut-- affectionate teasing and embarrassment are fine! Non-sexual abusive language during an action scene or whatever is fine!)
Sounding
Scat, watersports, emetophilia
GENERAL OPT-INS:
Second and first person POV!
Interactive fiction
Epistolary and otherwise non-standard storytelling (such as advice columns, articles, reviews of in-universe fictionalized movies based upon canon events, forum posts...)
Any level of shippiness and sexual explicitness from "100% gen" to "15k words of explicit smut"
Alternate universes, from "what if this event in canon was slightly tweaked" to complete nonsense ridiculousness like "oh they're werewolves on the moon now, and also soulmates!" to mostly-mundane AUs (though retaining at least a little of the canon's nonsense is great, even if you're writing about baristas or florists. or florist baristas. whatever!). I'm not especially interested in school/college AUs, but just about anything else is absolutely up my alley!
