Trick Or Treat 2019 Letter
Hello! I'm Alana, and I want to thank you for writing for me! This is my first time joining trick or treat, and only my second exchange ever, so hopefully I don't screw up this letter too badly. :D
I have a pretty wide appetite for fanfic and I would love basically anything that doesn't hit my DNWs that features the characters I request. :D Don't force yourself to write things just to hit my likes! Enthusiasm is worth a ten thousand words, and if my suggestions for one fandom are sparser than for another, that doesn't mean I want it less!

I don't mind background (canon or non-) m/f but overall I'm like, 400x more interested in gay shit, if you feel like writing (or drawing) something shippy. :D
AUs
Both mundane and fantastic. Characters as florists or high school students or whatever? Good! Characters as dragons or mermaids or eldritch beings from beyond time or were-whatevers? Also very good! Soulmate marks and connections and hanahaki? Delicious, tbh! If you strike on an AU idea that seems fun to you, it will almost certainly also be fun for me. :D
Crossovers
and/or fusions. The Animorphs meet Homestuck Trolls? Good! The Animorphs ARE Homestuck Trolls? Also very good! This could definitely be really fun to get art for, not just fic. :D

These are good too! I love all the canons, and I love how you can explore parts outside of what the camera sees when you're writing fanfiction.

It's not, like, a terribly likely thing to arise, and a passing mention of something like "she fiddled with her earring" or "the doctor gave him an inoculation" or art of a character with a lip ring doesn't bother me, but any kind of lingering description heebies my jeebies.
Gore Horror
Canon-typical goriness is ok, but if there is to be violence, I'd rather any injuries aren't too gruesome (bite to the shoulder or sword stopping at the ribs? ok! knife in the eye or through the hand? please do not) or to be skipped past. (I know Animorphs has some pretty violent gore, but it's pretty briefly described most of the time, and that's about my tolerance level.)

Dying because of combat or truly screwing up or because it happens in canon is fine, I just really don't like fics that end with like... a character suddenly dropping from their congenital heart defect or conveniently forgetting that their body can be cryogenically frozen until the antidote for the poison that's killing them is done being concocted. Not saying that I've read fics where these happened and left me extremely annoyed, BUT,

Backstory/precanon scenes! Of Solaire joining the Warriors of Sunlight? Of being a boy in Astora? Him sourcing paints for his tabard and shield, and laboring over the painting of them?
I just really love Solaire and want him to be happy. ;A;

Amalthea, newly human, can see that Molly needs her; as she loses her memory of being a unicorn, she tries to find something to give Molly, in return for all that Molly does for her.
Molly, falling in love despite herself and knowing that the unicorn cannot stay a human or with her forever.
Molly seeking out the unicorn when she feels the end of her life coming fast. The unicorn came to her the last of her kind, and now Molly comes to her at the last of her days. Hurt me.
